        Photography project, 2023
In 2023, I noticed the resurgence of “purikura” (photo sticker booths) in Taipei, influenced by the Y2K trend from Japan and South Korea. This made me reflect on the appeal of these booths beyond their promotion through entertainment and social media—what is it about them that resonates so deeply with younger generations?
Thus, I used the photo booth space as a conceptual starting point. For one month, I set a rule for myself: to visit a purikura booth every few days and take self-portraits, treating them as an alternative form of portraiture—both a self-examination and a visual record of the process.
This project is presented in three parts:
Time-limited, constrained photography
Seeking out public spaces that offer a private, theater-like experience, where the resulting images carry a sense of temporal continuity.

Self-surveillance
Re-photographing myself through the lens of another—capturing the act of self-portraiture as seen from an external perspective.
